Secret Transmission of the Tao – The Inner Diagram
This image resembles a serene landscape painting; however, if you look closer, a deeper truth emerges: the contours of a meditating body, the “microcosm” of the human. It is a map of inner alchemy, charting the circulation of life force and its merging with the cosmos.
These images, drawn from Eastern legends and sages, represent the practitioner’s process of uniting yin and yang within the body’s energy center (丹田 tanden) to give birth to the luminous “golden elixir”(金丹 kintan). This signifies that within the human body exist both yin and yang qualities, which interact and merge to nurture new life.
In Tendo, the highest teaching is never written—it passes from master to seeker orally. The essence of this diagram lies not in words, but in visual representation: the integration of yin and yang, the harmony of spirit, mind, and body.
This is a gateway to the state of awakening sought by sages across centuries, including the Buddha. This path, the diagram tells us, begins with opening the third eye (玄関 genkan) in a Tokudo (得道) ceremony. From there, the seeker proceeds to Shugen (守玄), the highest form of meditation and the sole path to ultimate realization.
