The History of Tendo

About 5,000 years ago, the one and only path to salvation Tendo was bestowed upon this world by the Source of all beings. Since that time, the Divine Mandate (天命 Tenmei) has been secretly passed down from one person to another, only among virtuous kings and sages. This lineage is called the Lineage of the Tao (道統 Dōtō).

The founders of this lineage risked their lives to protect the Tao and endured great hardships when selecting the Tao successors. Over the 5,000 years, the center of the Divine Mandate moved from China to India, then returned to China, passed through Taiwan, and finally arrived in Japan. The Lineage of the Tao has been inherited through 64 generations, and we now live in an age when all seekers can receive salvation.

The Teachings of the Five Great Sages

Jesus of Christianity, Mohammed of Islam, Laozi of Taoism, Confucius of Confucianism, and the Buddha of Buddhism—all were sages who received the salvation of Tendo.

The teachings of these sages were later preserved as sacred scriptures which gave births to various religions and their sects. People have continued to pursue these teachings to escape from the sufferings of life and death.

However, those teachings were expressed in forms that were suited to the times, locations, and peoples to whom they were given. Few realize that the teachings themselves are not the Tao of salvation. Teachings are merely the branches and leaves, but the root of salvation is Tendo. All religions ultimately lead to the Tao, the only Path.
